Optimizing Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Management in Long-Term Care
Program Description & Educational Objectives
In this activity, experts in insulin-dependent diabetes discuss the optimal management of patients in long-term care settings.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Recognize the barriers to effective management of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes in long-term care settings Explain the rationale for individualized administration of insulin therapy, taking into account patient- and disease-related factors Develop effective insulin administration strategies that achieve individual glycemic targets and minimize risk of hypoglycemia
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of US physicians, medical directors, physician assistants, consultant pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are active in the management of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes.
Requirements for Successful Completion
In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME/CNE/CPE credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
