Activity Description & Educational Objectives

In this activity, experts in cardiovascular disease prevention discuss challenges in the diagnosis and initial treatment of patients with hypertriglyceridemia, as well as strategies for lipid management in the patient with persistent high triglycerides.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Discuss the most recent evidence-based guidelines for the detection, evaluation, and treatment of hypertriglyceridemia, identifying significant changes from the previous version
  • Discuss screening strategies for hypertriglyceridemia, focusing on the importance of early and accurate diagnosis
  • Evaluate the benefits and limitations of available and emerging therapeutic options for patients with persistent high triglycerides
  • Implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with recent clinical findings and evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of hypertriglyceridemia

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of primary care physicians and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with hypertriglyceridemia.

Requirements for Successful Completion

There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit.
