Program Description & Educational Objectives
In this activity, experts in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) discuss updates in the diagnosis and management of GERD from the American College of Gastroenterology 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Evaluate recent clinical and health economics data related to the management of gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD)
- Identify current issues and controversies associated with the diagnosis and treatment of GERD
- Implement an evidence-based and resource-efficient strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of GERD
- Improve clinician-patient communication surrounding the physical and psychological symptom burdens of GERD, identifying patients’ dissatisfaction with current treatment options for GERD
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of primary care physicians and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Requirements for Successful Completion
In order to receive credit, participants must view the activity and complete the post-test and evaluation form. There are no pre-requisites and there is no fee to participate in this activity or to receive CME credit. Statements of Credit are awarded upon successful completion of the post-test and evaluation form.
